Pamela Gregg Flax DOM, DAOM, FABORM
Pamela holds a Doctorate in Oriental Medicine and is licensed by the state of New Mexico to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Integrating classical Chinese medicine principles with modern insights and compassion, she assists individuals with various conditions, including physical pain, emotional issues, digestive disorders, fertility, and pregnancy. Her interest in healing began with Kundalini yoga and Sat Nam Rasayan, leading to Chinese Medicine, which has been her primary healthcare since her 20s. Pamela earned her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe (2011) and pursued additional studies at the Wangjing Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences in Beijing. As a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (2015), she has extensive experience in reproductive health for women and men. She obtained her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the AOMA School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, TX (2017) with a focus on maternal health and acupuncture during pregnancy. Pamela’s academic pursuits initially began with a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Scripps College in Claremont, CA (Phi Beta Kappa honors, 1988), which included a year of study in Paris, France at L’École du Louvre and L’Université de la Sorbonne. Pamela continues her education by studying Chinese medicine under Taoist priest and physician Jeffrey Yuen of the Jade Purity Tradition. She studies tai chi, qi gong, meditation and medicine from scholar and martial artist Frank Aon. Before delving into Chinese Medicine, Pamela directed arts and environmental philanthropic programs at the Flintridge Foundation in California. Married to John Flax, the Artistic Director of Theater Grottesco, they reside with their dog Disco in an old adobe in the Traditional Village of Agua Fria in Santa Fe County. Pamela is presently revitalizing their land to grow pleasurable and nourishing plants for both them and local or migrating wildlife. When she is not tending to the garden, she is humbly learning to make pottery or practicing tai chi forms. Pamela believes that life itself is a creative endeavor, and she is passionate about supporting the conditions that encourage the healing potential in each of us.
